It was a wonderful day at the plowing match in Ivy. Special thanks to our parent helpers who were able to attend and assist with the children. Highlights of the day include being part of the parade, seeing all kinds of farm animals and watching the plowing. Remember that Saturday is "kids are free day". Coupons were sent home with your child on Tuesday. All the children should have slept well that night.
Terry Fox
Our annual Terry Fox walk is coming up next week. We are asking that your child bring in a toonie to support this worthwhile cause. Our walk is next Wednesday Sept. 24th.
Friday September 12, 2014 Thank you to all the parents that we able to send in the trip form and money today. If you were unable to send it in today please send it in Monday morning. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Please send in grocery flyers for an upcoming math activity.
Have a wonderful weekend. Hopefully the weather will allow lots of outdoor play.
We are so excited to have the opportunity to go the Plowing Match this coming Tuesday in Ivy. It is very important that the permission forms and money be returned to the school tomorrow, Friday September 12, 2014. Thank you with your assistance with this.
As with any other field trip, please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Rubber boots and raincoats are recommended if this wet weather continues. Please ensure that you pack a hardy lunch for your child as they will be engaged in lots of walking in the fresh air.
If you would like to become a parent helper and you have your current police check completed, please send it into the school asap.
It's hard to believe that we have completed the first week of school already. Many of the children are learning the new grade one routines. We have been working very hard each and every day. Please ask your child about his/her day. We have painted self portraits, cut and pasted faces for a bulletin board, sang many songs, read poems and books, counted etc. We are very busy!! I love the enthusiastic group that we have here.
Today we welcomed our teaching student Ms. Stover to our classroom from York University. She will be with us every Monday and Tuesday until her three week teaching block in November. We are very lucky to have her in our room.
Agendas
Your child has brought home an agenda today. Please see the note in the front pouch. Please initial the agenda and leave it open to the current date in the ziplock provided. Each morning I will check agendas as part of our morning routine.
Today your child has brought home a Mail Bag and some forms for you to complete. Please ask your child to share their Mail Bag and those papers with you! Please return those completed forms as soon as possible, as this allows me to know more about your child.
Please return the Mail Bag to school each day, even if it is empty. There will be many notes going home in the coming days and this ensures that you receive them safely. Bringing this Mail Bag to school each day will become an important routine for your child.
